OUR SPECIALITIES
CARDAMOM CURING HOUSE
The crown jewel of Ambady Estate, this ancient structure is the centre piece of the property which also serves as our reception. An old wood furnace from the outside heats this double heighted space in which freshly plucked cardamom is dried for 36 hours. This is the oldest method of drying this unique, fragrant spice and a tour of this attic-like structure is a must. Experience the depth and beauty of the science of ancient curing of Cardamom!!
At Ambady Estate we have been following the locovore system where we collect the fresh vegetables and fruits within the property, according to season thus making it a farm to table experience. Even so, we acquire all items from a 10 km radius so that we can give fresh and delicious food to all our guests. On request we can provide you with a cooking demo of our chef speciality dishes and also try to make food which is truly local.
We offer a guided natural walk through our Cardamom woodlands to discover the flora and fauna detailing the plantation, to unique rock formations, to small view points or to the grasslands on the edge of the forest
We offer a daily, complimentary, inhouse group trek through our cardamom plantation. This is curated in such a manner that guests gather together for a walk in the garden breathing in the spice filled air of the plantation as a group activity.
One of the greatest blessings since we became organic is the dense population of both indigenous and migratory birds.
